Snow Lotus Puree 雪莲果泥


My son most favorite puree solid food - Snow Lotus Puree 雪莲果泥.  I bought few snow lotus and stock at home to cook puree and soup for my family.  When my son first attempt on the snow lotus puree, he fall in love with it.  I am wondering why he love it so much, so I taste it by myself.  Honestly said, this snow lotus blend into puree really really sweet and yummy!!  This can either consume directly cook it.  To make my son's puree food, I steam cook it and blend it.  As usual I use my SD-967 SEED electric lunch box to steam cook it for 1 hour or no need to be so long time, as long as it already soften and transfer it to blender to blend into puree form.  No need to add water when steam cook it.  

Ingredient :
Snow Lotus 

Method :
  1. Peel skin, cut into cubes.
  2. Steam cook until soften.
  3. Transfer to blender to blend into puree form.

红葱油籣山面


Super tiring these few weeks.  So I just prepare this quick and delicious noodles for my daughter for this weekend today as per her request.  This is purely handmade noodles from Taiwan called 籣山面.  I have restocked for a big batch and of course I will reserve a few packs for my little one at home.  Here is feedback from her :"妈咪,好吃到它...!! 我还要多点!! "  Hahaha....she is so picky in foods, and i'm happy that she love this fancy decorated dinner today.

Kiwi Honeydew Yogurt Milkshake



I go to do grocery shopping today and buy many fruits.  All the fruits I wash,  cut into cubes and pack into freezer ziplock bag as per picture above. You can mixed variety of fruits into one pack.  I like to blend juice for my kid.  So I pack variety of fruits packs and store into my freezer.  Whenever I want to make milk shake, I just take out one pack and blend it. For the homemade yogurt, I bought the yogurt starter and make my homemade yogurt at home.  I only make 250ml each time using my mini SEED Yogurt maker.  For the yogurt recipe, you may click here at my previous post.

Pork Chop Burger by Waffle Maker


Kid no school, so I make this burger to bite at home as snack.  Well, again I use my waffle maker to make this sandwich.

Ingredients :
Pork chop
Cheese slice
Scramble egg
Burger bun (I use wholemeal burger bun)

Method :
  1. Heat up pan with oil, grill pork chop.  Set aside.
  2. Heat up oil, pan fried scramble egg.  Set aside
  3. Put all the cooked ingredients to burger bun
  4. Heat up waffle maker with butter.  Transfer burger to preheated waffle maker to grill for a while until golden brown and cheese melted.
  5. Serve it hot.

Pancake Waffle




Today is Nasional Day and also school holiday. The little one at home surely will keep looking for something to bite.  So I decide to make pancake using my waffle maker and named it "PANCAKE WAFFLE".  And of course - HOMEMADE!  Super easy recipe.  I out of self raising flour, so I d.i.y my self raising flour using all purpose flour.

D.I.Y Self Raising Flour
1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

Instruction :
Whisk all of the ingredients together in a bowl; use as directed in your recipe.

Pancake Waffle Ingredients :
1 cup self raising flour
1 tbsp sugar (I use molesses sugar)
1 egg, lightly beaten
3/4 cup (180ml) milk
50g melted butter

Instruction :
  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour and sugar.  Beat in the egg and then milk a little at a time until batter is smooth and lump-free.
  3. In a waffle maker, brush oil or melted butter over cooking surface and pour the batter to it.

Waffle Maker Grill Meat / Grill Chicken Omelette 华夫饼机烤肉 / 烤洋葱鸡蛋


I am in a hurry to prepare dinner for my daughter tonight.  Want to make something fast and easy.  So I use my waffle maker cook these 2 dishes in one waffle maker at the same time.  Other than this, I am steaming brown rice at my SEED Electric Lunch Box.  Above is my demo video on how to cook with my waffle maker.

Grill Pork Meat Marinate Ingredients :
Dark soy sauce
Light soy sauce
Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Oyster sauce
Sesame oil
Water

Method :
  1. Marinate pork meat with marinate ingredients.
  2. Heat up waffle maker with oil
  3. Transfer marinated meat to waffle maker and start to grill until cooked.
Grill Onion with Egg

Ingredients :
Beaten Egg
Big onion

Method :
  1. Cut big onion into thin slices
  2. Transfer to waffle maker and grill for 1 minutes.  Add beaten egg and grill until cooked.

Red Dates Pork Porridge 红枣猪肉粥


Happy holiday everyone!  First attempt on red dates and pork porridge for my 9 mths baby today as his lunch and dinner today.  As usual I use my electric lunch box to cook it.  In my video, I steam cook my porridge at upper tier of my electric lunch box.  So the bottom tier I can put more base water to prevent the water easily dried up.  I don't like to feed him so strong flavor food, so I only steam cook for 1 hour.  

Ingredients :
Millet & white rice
Red dates
Slice pork meat

Method :
  1. Soak millet and white rice for around 30 mins.
  2. Add in all ingredients and steam cook by electric lunch box for 1 hour.
  3. After done, blend it.

Baby Chicken Porridge 宝宝鸡肉粥


If you don't want to prepare chicken broth, here is another way you can use to prepare chicken porridge for your baby.  My boy is 9 months old and today I cook him chicken porridge.  First attempt on meat flavor.  And conclusion, he loves it!  You may refer my demo above on how to prepare this porridge. 

Ingredients :
White rice & millet
Chicken breast meat

Method :
  1. Soak white rice and millet for 30 mins.
  2. Cut chicken breast meat into big slices as per the video so it will be easy for you to take out the meat to blend the porridge after done.
  3. Steam cook it for minimum 1 hour or more longer.  
You may store your extra porridge into your freezer for next consumption.

Spicy Soy Bean Paste Steam Fish



Ingredients :
Fish (马友)
Carrot
Mushroom
Ginger
Spicy soy bean paste

Method :
  1. Put all the ingredients and steam for 1 hour.

Pumpkin Puree & Fish Bone Millet Porridge



Solid for my boy today.  He love it so much!  For the fish bone soup I only put fish and ginger to cook the soup.  As he has very sensitive skin, I don't want to put too much ingredients first to prevent he allergic again.  

Fish bone soup ingredients :
Fish bone
Ginger

Method :
Steam cook for 1.5 hrs.

Millet porridge
  1. Soak millet for 30 mins before cook it.  
  2. Drain off the soaking water and replace it with fish bone soup to steam cook for 1 hr.
  3. After done, blend to puree form


Pumpkin Puree 
  1. Cut pumpkin into cubes and steam cook it until soft.  I steam cook together with the millet porridge for 1 hrs.
  2. After done, blend to puree form
P/S : All solid should store it into freezer

Baby Fish Porridge (8 months old)



Today I cook this fish porridge to my 8 mths old little pumpkin at home.  This time I manage to capture video to show how I do. As I just cook for very small portion so I always use my electric lunch box to prepare solid food for my little pumpkin.

Ingredients :
Fish stock
Millet

Method :
  1. Wash and soak millet for 30 mins.
  2. Transfer the millet to steam pot and add in fish stock.
  3. Steam it for 1 hr using my SEED electric lunch box SD-975.

Papaya Pork Bone Soup 南杏北杏骨头木瓜汤





I am a lactating mommy of 7 mths old baby.  So I need to drink a lot of soups in order to boost my breastmilk volume.  This soup really boost up my breastmilk volumn.  Besides pork bone, I also added chicken to make the soup for yummy.  

Ingredients :
Pork bone 
Chicken meat
Red dates
南杏北杏
Raw Papaya 

Method :
  1. Cook pork bone and chicken for a little while to get rid of the blood.
  2. Add all ingredients to boiling water and cook it for roughly 1:30 hrs.

Mixed Vegetables Fried Rice



 My daughter doesn't like meat, and also not really know how to chew the vegetables.  So I cook her this vegetable fried rice.  I chop all the vegetables and fried it.

Ingredients :
Cabbage
Carrot
Garlic

Cooked brown rice

Method :

  1. Use chopper to chop all the vegetables into small pieces.
  2. Pan fried all ingredients until cooked and lastly add the cooked brown rice to fried for a little while.
  3. Dished up

Mini Rainblow Donut


Daughter :  Mommy mommy, I want to make rainbow donut.
Mommy :  Alright, let's do it !

Baked two type of mini donut last night i.e. rainbow donut and plain mini donut for my daughter and her schoolmates.  She requested the rainbow donut since long time ago she watch the youtube with me and insisted want to make it.  

Ingredients :
5 tbsp butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
1 1/2 cups self raising flour (or 1 1/2 cups plain flour + 2 1/4 tsp baking powder)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk

  1. In a large bowl, mix butter and sugar thoroughly.  Add egg and mix well.
  2. Sift flour and salt together.
  3. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk
  4. Mix no.3 to no.1
  5. Fill preheated Donut maker with donut batter and bake for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown.

Hand Print Art Activities



I never realized my homemade crayola model magic dough can turn hard after few days in room temperature and didn't put into refridge.  Therefore I use it to make hand print activities with my little dragon at home.  Put her tiny hand on the play dough and handprint with color and put under the sun.

Happy Sushi Bento


Today menu is Japanese sushi bento.  Well, not a fancy bento.  The important is she eat.  I ready this bento for her dinner tonight.  She finish all, except cherry tomato.

Sushi ingredients :
Fried egg
Cream cheese
Cucumber
Cooked white rice

Side dishes :
Stir fried broccoli with chicken breast meat
Cherry tomato

Titbits :
RM1 kids chocolate x 2 pcs

Homemade Pancakes


I cook and bake a lot recently as my little dragon no school.  I don't want her to eat too much rubbish and ignore to eat the main course everyday.  So I bake cakes, cook pancake etc for her as titbits.  This is superb easy recipe.  I love it be breakfast  

Ingredients :
150g self raising flour
1 egg
3/4 cups milk 
1 tbsp sugar
50g melted butter
1/4 tsp vanilla essence (optional)

Method :
  1. Mix all ingredients until form a batter.  
  2. Heat up pan with oil and pour the batter to the pan.   
  3. Cook until surface of pancakes have some bubbles.  Flip carefully and cook until brown at both sides.  
  4. Serve warm with desired toppings. 

Grilled Chicken Chop Rice


Cook this as dinner for my daughter tonight.  She ask me to cook this for her everyday.  I marinated the chicken overnight.  I use my stainless steel frying pan to grill it.  Just use the kitchen tissue or brush to wipe the pan with oil.  Then wait the pan heat up and start to grill with the lowest heat.  So It won't burn the ingredients.  

Ingredients :
Marinated Chicken Breast Meat 
1 Potato
Cherry tomato
1 Big onion (red one)
3 garlic cloves

Marinated Sauce :
Oyster sauce
Light soy sauce
Dark soy sauce
Sesame oil
Black pepper
Pinch of salt
Oregano

Method :
  1. Wipe the pan with oil.  Heat up pan and start to grill all the ingredients with lowest heat.
  2. Keep turning the ingredients to prevent it burn.  Grill all the ingredients until soft.  Make sure don't overcooked the chicken chop as the meat will turn hard.

Blueberry Cheese Cake / No Bake Strawberry Cheese Cake



Been busy for several weeks and totally no times to jot down my favorite cheese cake recipe in my blog.  Initially I baked the blueberry cheese cake but there's some extra cream cheese filling so I use it to make no bake strawberry cheese cake.

Blueberry Cheese Cake
Crust Ingredients:
150g plain flour
60g icing sugar
120g butter
30g beaten egg

Cheese filling :
250g cream cheese
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
60g icing sugar

Topping :
Blueberry pie filling 

Method :
  1. To make crust, combine all crust ingredients and knead to form a dough.  I use my electric mixer to mix it.  Chill in fridge for 30 mins.
  2. Roll the dough and transfer to 7 inch pie mould with removable bottom.  Trim off edge.  Bake in oven at 180 degree c for roughly 15 mins until the crust golden brown.
  3. To make filling, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. 
  4. In another bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peak and add vanilla extract.  Transfer the cream to cream cheese mixture and mixed well.
  5. Pour the filling to pie mould and topping with blueberry pie filling.
  6. Chill it overnight or 6 hours before serving.

No Bake Strawberry Cake

Base ingredients :
Graham crackers
Honey star
Melted butter

Filling :
I use the remaining filling above

Topping :
Strawberry slices
Blueberry pie filling

Method :
  1. Transfer base ingredients to food processor and blend it.  
  2. Press crumbs to any mini pie mould.  I use small plastic container as picture above.
  3. Pour the filling to base and topping with topping ingredients.  Chill it before serving.

Aglio Olio

Today menu is my own version of Aglio Olio. I am sure she will finish this tonight as I have added hotdog.  Just once in a while I let her eat hotdog.  All kids love hotdog.  It is not a very healthy food for kids. But it is okay for me cause just once in a while.


Ingredients :

Olive oil

Prawn

Hotdog

Ham

Cherry tomato

Cooked spaghetti


Seasoning : 

Salt

Pepper

Oregano


Method :

1)  Heat up pan with olive oil. 

2)  Stir fried all ingredients. And season with seasoning ingredients.

3)  Dish up and serve it hot.

Pumpkin Puree 金瓜泥



First solid for my 6.5 mths old son.  4 years ago, I prepared solid food for my daughter.  And after 4 years of today, I move out all the equipment from my kitchen and start to prepare solid for my son.  Everything have to restart again.  I will start from 3 days pumpkin puree for him.  If no allergic for pumpkin then we will try for another food for another 3 days.  As usual I steam cook it by my electric lunch box until soft and move to my glass blender to blend it till puree form.  Then I transfer it to small solid food container and freeze it.  It can keep in freezer for up to 6 mths based on my knowledge.  But I don't freeze it such long time as I am a fulltime mummy.  Therefore I only prepare very small portion of puree then finish it within 2-3 days.

Ingredients :
Pumpkin
Water (optional)

Method :
  1. Steam cook pumpkin until soft and transfer it to blender to blend it till puree form.

Strawberry Cheese Pie


Weekend dessert for my kid at home.  Bought fresh strawberry from my hometown fresh market and got an idea to make this strawberry cheese pie for my daughter since she craving for strawberry cake. So we bake this  pie at home.

Crust Ingredients : 
160g All purpose flour
113g unsalted butter
43g sugar
1/4 tsp salt

Filling Ingredients :
225g cream cheese
50g sugar / icing sugar

Topping :
Strawberry slices

Method :
  1. Make the crust : Preheat oven at 180 degree c.  In food processor or mixer, blend crust ingredients to moist crumbs form.  Roll dough and transfer dough to 8 - 9 inch round tart pan with removable bottom.
  2. Using a fork, prick crust all over.  Bake until golden roughly 20 mins.  Pressing gently once or twice with spoon during baking if crust puffs up.  Cool completely in pan.
  3. Make the filling : Mix the filling ingredients with mixer until smooth.  Spread mixture evenly at the baked crust.
  4. Topping with strawberry slices.  Refridge until 6 hrs or overnight.

Fried Spaghetti 炒意大利面


My daughter seems boring with rice recently.  So I make her this fried spaghetti as dinner after back from school.  She ask for some more when she finish.  Seems she love the menu for today.  Well, this is super easy fried spaghetti.  I just put carrot and breast meat only.  

Ingredients A :
Spaghetti

Ingredients B :
Garlic
Carrot
Chicken breast meat

Seasoning :
Oregano
Pinch of salt


Method :
  1. Cook spaghetti. Drain and dish up.  Set aside.
  2. Heat up frying pan with oil.  ( I use rice bran oil as my cooking oil) . Stir fried all ingredients B.  Lastly add in cooked spaghetti and fried for a little while.  Adjust the taste with appropriate  seasoning.

Healthy Breakfast with Green Peas Chicken Pie



Craving for chicken pie since long time, but all the times unable to wait for the fresh homemade chicken pie from a cafe.  Therefore, I baked it by myself at home and be breakfast for my toddler at home since she no schooling for 2 weeks.  I have share the chicken pie recipe at my previous post.  And this time I added green peas in it.  For the recipe, you may refer back my previous post - click here Chicken Pie

Toddler Cheese Baked Rice 儿童起司烤饭




Two weeks school holidays and I need to prepare 3 times toddler's meal everyday.  Today is my first attempt on cheese baked rice for my toddler at home.  I let her be my assistant in kitchen today.  She helps me to prepare this super yummy meal.  



Ingredients :
Cooked brown rice
Natural cheese
Ham
Green peas

Method :
  1. Place all the cooked ingredients above to remekin.
  2. Preheat oven at 180 degree c and baked for 20 mins until the cheese melted.  (P/S : Different brand of oven will be different temperature to baked this)

Colorful Mixed Vegetable 炒杂菜


School holiday start today.  My daughter stay at home.  Therefore I prepare her this healthy colorful meal as her lunch.  As I am a lactating mommy, I also need to have healthy meal everyday.  I love to intro different kind of vege to my kids.  As long as I think is healthy for them, they must eat it.  No "mommy, I don't want this and that" .  

Ingredients :
Sweet peas
Red bell pepper
Baby corn
Pork meat
Garlic
Water 

Marinate Ingredients :
Salt
Premium soy sauce 头抽 / Light soy sauce 生抽
Sesame oil
Oyster sauce (Optional)
Black pepper / white pepper
Water

Method :
  1. Marinated the meat.  Set aside.  Cut all the ingredients into your preferred bite sizes.
  2. Stir fried garlic, pork meat until the meat turn to medium cooked.  Add in rest of the ingredients and continue to fried.
  3. Add some water to make more gravy.  The gravy of this dishes very appetizing especially serve with rice.
  4. When all the ingredients cooked and soft, dished up.

Emperor Herbs Steam Chicken 帝皇鸡


A very simple yet delicious dinner for my toddler at home today.  I found one pack of this A1 Herbs chicken spice pack in my refridge which is goin to be expire end of April.  So without think twice, I grab it and goin to marinate my freshly buy drumstick at fresh market today.  For today bento, I give her corn, carrot and drumstick.  I put some carrot and cheese flower as decoration to make this bento more colorful and appetizing.  However, the drumstick is the only food attracting me.  Haha... 

As usual I use my SEED SD-967 electric lunch box to steam all the ingredients one shot.  Here is the recipe below :

Ingredients :
Carrot
Baby corn
Drumstick (marinate with A1 Emperor herbs spice)
A1 herbs spice (refer pic below)


Brown rice + Millet ( Ratio 4 tbsp mixed rice : 5 tbsp water)

Method :
  1. Marinate the drumstick chicken and wrap it with aluminium foil
  2. At another pot, I steam rice.  I set it to 1 hr and steam together with the chicken at upper tier of my electric lunch box.
  3. After 30 mins, I add in carrot and baby corn at the rice pot and let it continue to steam until the set timing i.e 1 hr.
After getting everything ready and start steaming with my electric lunch box.  I continue to busy with my 2 little one at home until 6pm, dinner is ready!  Thanks my all time helper.  I start using electric lunch box since my daughter start solid until now she is 4 years old and I am still using it to prepare solid for her.

Mixed Bell Pepper Stir Fried Chicken with Mushroom 青红黄椒炒鲜菇鸡肉




First attempt on mixed bell pepper to my daughter.  And the taste pretty good.

Menu :
Mixed bell pepper stir fried chicken with mushroom

Cherry tomato
Brown rice + Millet

Recipe for Mixed Bell Pepper

Ingredients :
Chicken
Red, Yellow, Green bell pepper
Mushroom
Garlic

Seasoning :
Salt
Oyster sauce

Marinate Sauce :
Salt
Light soy sauce
Water

Method :

  1. Marinate chicken for few minutes or overnight. 
  2. Heat up oil and stir fried all ingredients.  Add some water to make gravy.
  3. Adjust the taste by adding the seasoning.

Mushroom Scramble Egg & Stir Fried Mixed Vegetable


When I open my refridge this evening, still have 3 mushroom in the glass bottle.  So, I cut it into cubes and fried egg for my daughter as dinner tonight.
Menu :
Mushroom scramble egg with seaweed
Stir fried mixed vegetables (Broccoli, carrot, meat)
Brown rice + Millet

Lunch bento for today.  Wake up late in the morning and prepare this lunch bento for my daughter back from school in the afternoon.  

Menu :

Homemade Bento

Just manage to compile all my bento collection recipe for my daughter recently.  Well, still learning to be more creative to make it more fancy.  I am happy to see her enjoy her bento meal every time.  She makes me more motivated to prepare more for her.
